Brian has been in public practice in the area since 1987 and in partnership with Greg Sylvestre since 2006. Brian is a graduate of the University of Alberta, with Bachelor degrees in Economics and Commerce. He began his accounting career in 1982 at the Edmonton office of Thorne Riddell (now KPMG), an international accounting firm, and earned his designation in 1985.

Greg earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1996 from the University of Calgary and the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. He articled with Price Waterhouse in Calgary and later joined a mid-market accounting firm to focus on owner-managed businesses. Before joining our Cold Lake office in 2004, Greg was the Financial Officer for a resort real estate development company in B.C.

● Maureen Lotsberg, CA, CFP
Maureen earned her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta in 1993 and started articling for her Chartered Accountant's designation at the Office of the Auditor General. She completed her articling at Collins Barrow in Red Deer and received her Chartered Accountants designation in 1997. She joined Ross & Sylvestre in 2002.

● Sylvia Slowski, CA
Sylvia earned her designation in 2004. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta, with a major in accounting. Prior to joining our firm in early 2004, Sylvia worked two years with a national C.A. firm and a further two years with a regional C.A. firm.

● Jenilee Melnyk, CA
Jenilee graduated from the University of Regina’s Bachelor of Administration program, with a specialization in accounting in 2004. Jenilee joined Ross & Sylvestre LLP after university in December, 2004 to article for a Chartered Accountant designation. In 2008 she received her CA designation after completing the Chartered Accountant School of Business program and successfully passing the Uniform Evaluation exam.

● Michael Wurzer, CA
Michael earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2004 from the University of Alberta. He articled with a mid-market accounting firm with focus on owner-managed businesses in Edmonton. Michael earned his CA designation in 2007 with Grant Thornton. Before joining Ross & Sylvestre in Cold Lake in 2009, Michael was a consultant for an international integrated Oil and Gas company in Calgary.

● Tolulope Maraiyesa, CGA
Tolulope earned her Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from the University of Swaziland in 2002 and began her accounting career in public practice in Swaziland before moving to England where she worked in industry as a management accountant. She earned the designation of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in England and the Certified General Accountants’ Association (CGA) in 2007 whilst working at a regional C.A. firm. She joined the firm in January 2009 and brings with her over 6 years of accounting experience in industry and public practice.

Leeann has been part of the organization since 2006. She brings to the team several years of management and accounting experience accompanied by an Applied Accounting Degree from NAIT.

● Angela Taphorn, BBA
Angela recently earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with an accounting concentration from Simon Fraser University. She joined our firm in January 2008 after completion of her degree. She plans to obtain an accounting designation in the near future.

Ann Kuzyk holds a Bachelor of Education degree, with a major in mathematics, and is working towards her Commerce degree. She joined the firm in 2004; her current role is to assist clients with bookkeeping.

Colleen Nault joined our group of support staff and bookkeepers in June, 2005. She has accounting experience with various corporate and public organizations, and holds a certificate in Office Administration.

Gail has been in the public accounting field since 2000. She had worked previously in many different areas such as hospitality, construction and the oil & gas industry. She joined the firm in 2003.

Lisa holds a Business Management Diploma from Lakeland Collage. Lisa joined our group of support staff and bookkeepers in August 2006.

● Ellen Maillet
Ellen earned her Bachelor if Commerce degree (Major in Accounting) from St. Scholastica's College in the Philippines in 1990 and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1991. She started her accounting career in public practice at Arthur Andersen, an international accounting and consulting firm, which was followed with managerial positions in the Philippines and the United States before moving to Canada. She joined Ross & Sylvestre in October 2006.

● Rasha Dajani, B.Sc Accounting
Rasha joined our firm in October 2006. She brings 6 years of Public Practice experience at Deloitte & Touche - Jordan and Dubai, and 3 years of Internal Auditing experience at a major local group in Dubai. Rasha is currently working towards her Certified Internal Auditor Certification (CIA).

Kayla is currently the receptionist in our Bonnyville office. She is enrolled at the University of Athabasca in the business management program. Kayla joined Ross & Sylvestre LLP in June 2008.

Angela a graduate of the Grant MacEwan Accounting Diploma Program (1999) joined the firm in March 2008. Prior to the public practice field she had been working in the finance department of the Métis Settlement General Council head office in Edmonton. During the time with Métis Settlements General Council she also acquired the Project Management Certificate from NAIT (2003).
